Possessive pronouns in Spanish (los pronombres posesivos en español) are used to express possession. Possessive pronouns are the same as the long form of possessive adjectives, except, that they are accompanied by the definite articles: el, los, la, las. See Spanish Possessive Pronouns Exercise 1.

- All possessive pronouns in Spanish have a feminine, masculine, and plural forms.
- In some cases the possessive pronoun may not give enough information to determine the possessor, in that case, the definite article + the noun de + the personal pronoun Él, ella, ud., ellos, ellas or Uds. is used to clarify the message. Also, the name of the person can be used instead of the personal pronoun.
Examples:
Mi auto y el tuyo son de la misma marca.
My car and yours are the same brand.
¿De quién son estos libros? Son los de Susana.
Whose books are these? They are Susana’s.
Su casa es más grande que la mía.
Your house is bigger than mine.
¡Olvidé la computadora! ¿Puedo usar la tuya?
I forgot the computer! Can i use yours?
