Ser vs Estar Exercise
- Ser and Estar are both used as the verb of the sentence
Soy de Nicaragua.
I am from Nicaragua.
Estamos de vacaciones.
We are on vacation.
- Ser can be used in the passive voice
Example:
La casa fue limpiada por María.
The house was cleaned by Maria.
- Estar can be used when conjugating sentences in the progressive tense.
Example:
Marcos está buscando trabajo.
Marcos is looking for a job.
Important:
- Ser is used to express or describe situations that can be permanent or more lasting, while Estar is used to describe situations that are more temporary.
